He was born in Drama in 1961. He graduated from the School of Medicine, AUTh, in 1985. He did his Residency Training at the Department of Urinary Organs (currently 1st Urology Department) of AUTh and got his Specialty Degree in 1993. He worked as a Scientific Associate in the Department of Urinary Organs (1993-1995). He served as an NHS Registrar for 6 years (1995-1999) at the Halkidiki Hospital and the "Theagenio" Cancer Hospital of Thessaloniki.
He got his PhD from the Medical School of AUTH in 1996. He received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 2009.
He was elected Lecturer at the Democritus University of Thrace in 1999, and at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001, where he has been working until today as a Professor at the 1st Department of Urology (‘G. Gennimatas’ General Hospital of Thessaloniki).
